A programme framed by two Viennese masterpieces, and designed around
music with "a sense of place"…
two world premières by Moffat-based composers, together with music
evoking landscapes & locations from Cornwall to the Orkneys, from the
Lake District to the Highlands of Scotland, and from Hungary to … the
dentist's chair! Carolyn Sparey grew up in the Lake District, the daughter
of a dentist … Gavin Maxwell is a bagpiper and composer often to be found
in Café Ariete -

Sparey is former principal viola with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and
the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She has frequently broadcast as
